Annual power line patrols in Routt and Moffat counties.

Part of our regular work at Zephyr involves annual utility patrols. We start in the spring with power lines in Routt, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties, helping the local power authorities make sure their infrastructure is in good working condition. Power line inspections are a key part of making sure electricity is provided to their customers without unnecessary interruptions. When we first started doing these inspections, the line technicians found many issues that had to be addressed with ground crews to remedy them. Over the years as inspections were flown on a regular basis,  fewer problems have been identified, which ultimately saves money for the energy companies. Keeping up on regular inspections helps find potential issues before they become a real problem. When choosing a company to help you monitor power lines (or any low-level operations, for that matter), you absolutely must choose an operator who has extensive experience flying in the wires environment. You need a pilot who can get the job done without taking needless risks, one who understands how to navigate safely in that complicated environment, and one who you can count on to return you safely home at the end of the day. John Witte is that pilot. He has thousands of hours operating in the low-level wires environment, and he puts that experience to work every day by maintaining his perfect safety record.
