Part of our regular work at Zephyr involves annual utility patrols. We start in the spring with power lines in Routt, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties, helping the local power authorities make sure their infrastructure is in good working condition. Power line inspections are a key part of making sure electricity is provided to their customers without unnecessary interruptions. When we first started doing these inspections, the line technicians found many issues that had to be addressed with ground crews to remedy them. Over the years as inspections were flown on a regular basis, fewer problems have been identified, which ultimately saves money for the energy companies.
